Aftermath 2: Taal Volcano island a wasteland; total lockdown in high-risk areas enforced

The government’s task force Taal flew journalists over Taal Volcano island by helicopter last Jan. 21, 2020 as part of its efforts to provide the people information of the status of the volcano which erupted on Jan. 12, 2020, forcing out tens of thousands from their homes in Batangas and Cavite provinces.
Officials also gave an update on measures that have been taken to ensure the safety of people living within the 14-kilometer danger zone around the volcano and provide for their welfare in the evacuation centers. Volcanologists have remained firm about maintaining alert level 4 which warns of a hazardous eruption. Authorities are enforcing mandatory evacuation and a lockdown of high risk areas.
