July 27, 2020
President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday gave telecommunications companies until December to improve their service.
In his State of the Nation Address (SONA), he said: ''If you are not ready to improve, I might as well close all of you and revert to the line, telephone.''
''The patience of the Filipino people is reaching its limits,'' he said.
''Kindly improve the services before December. I want to call Jesus Christ to Bethlehem, better have that line cleared,'' he added.
The Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co and Globe Telecom are the country's main telecommunications companies. DMS
