Glitch Hits Mizuho Securities Online Service

Tokyo- Mizuho Securities Co. said Tuesday that it has suspended online securities trading service due to a system glitch.
The Japanese company, a unit of Mizuho Financial Group Inc., is trying to restore the service and identify the cause of the system failure.
The Mizuho Securities Net Club service, which handles some 1,174,000 accounts on a contract basis, is usually available between 6 a.m. and 1 a.m. the following day on weekdays and between 7:30 a.m. and 1 a.m. the following day on weekends and holidays.
According to Mizuho Securities, some stock transaction orders placed between around 6 p.m. on Friday (9 a.m. GMT) and around 8 a.m. on Monday were not completed.
The company halted the online service on Tuesday as it failed to find the cause of the malfunction the previous day. Jiji Press
