August 31, 2018
Tokyo- Honda Motor Co. said Thursday it will launch a fully remodeled version of its CR-V sport-utility vehicle in the Japanese market on Friday.
The Japanese automaker suspended sales of the CR-V in the domestic market in 2016, though it is popular overseas.
The fifth-generation CR-V, powered by a 1,500 cc turbo engine, has a fuel economy of 15.8 kilometers per liter of gasoline. It starts at 3,230,280 yen. A three-row version is available.
Honda will release a hybrid variant that employs a 2,000 cc gasoline engine and a motor on Nov. 1. It can travel 25.8 kilometers per liter and starts at 3,784,320 yen.
The new CR-V is a luxury SUV, ranked higher than the automaker's popular Vezel compact SUV. The monthly sales target is set at 1,200 units. Jiji Press
