Metro Pacific Hospital Holdings acquires majority control of Delgado Clinic

Metro Pacific Hospital Holdings, Inc.,  the healthcare investments holding subsidiary of listed firm Metro Pacific Investments Corporation, completed Wednesday its agreement to infuse approximately P133.5 million of cash into Delgado Clinic Inc. , owner and operator of the Dr. Jesus C. Delgado Memorial Hospital via a subscription to preferred shares representing approximately 65 percent of the total expanded capital stock of DCI.

Metro Pacific Investments Corp made this disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange on Wednesday.

Established in 1948 as The Delgado Clinic, the facility continually grew through the years and was later renamed Dr. Jesus C. Delgado Memorial Hospital, which is located in Kamuning Road, Quezon City, was established in 1948.

The cash infusion will enable the 68-year-old hospital to upgrade its equipment and facilities, and expand its capacity to serve the community.

Delgado Clinic  appointed Rolando  Balburias as president and general manager of the hospital Wednesday.

Ma. Violeta Delgado Cojuangco, previous hospital president and chief executive officer and representative of the Delgado family, said: “We welcome the investment of Metro Pacific Hospital Holdings Inc, the largest private hospital group in the country, into our hospital.”

The Delgado family will stay as a significant shareholder of the company and will continue to participate in its growth and strategic plans through our Directorships in the Board of Delgado Clinic Inc,” said Cojuangco.

Jose Delgado Memorial Hospital becomes Metro Pacific Hospital Holdings Inc 8th hospital in Metro Manila.

The others are Makati Medical Center, Asian Hospital, Cardinal Santos Medical Center, Manila Doctors Hospital, De Los Santos Medical Center, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, and MarikinaValley Medical Center.

It  also has five provincial hospitals: Davao Doctors Hospital, Riverside Medical Center in Bacolod, Central Luzon Doctors’ Hospital in Tarlac, West Metro Medical Center in Zamboanga, andSacred Heart Hospital in Malolos, Bulacan.

Completing its healthcare portfolio are a primary care clinic Megaclinic in SM Megamall Ortigas, and Davao Doctors College and Riverside College in Bacolod. DMS
