Mizuho Securities’ Online Trading Remains Suspended
June 27, 2018
Tokyo0- Mizuho Securities Co.'s online trading services for retail customers remained suspended due to a system glitch as of Wednesday morning, company officials said.
The Mizuho Financial Group Inc. unit was unable to fix the problem before the start of the day's services at 6 a.m. (9 p.m. Tuesday GMT), according to the officials.
While responding to customers over the phone and at its outlets, the company is working to resolve the situation within the day.
The Mizuho Securities Net Club services, which allow individuals to conduct stock and other securities transactions on the Internet, have been suspended since Tuesday.
The officials blamed the service halt on a glitch in the company's in-house network connected to its system for processing transactions for retail customers.
Cash deposits and withdrawals, and other services using Mizuho Securities cards through automated teller machines of partner banks have also been suspended, the officials said. Jiji Press
