Peso ends at new four-year high of P48.05:$1

The Philippine peso closed to a new four-year high of P48.05 against the US dollar from P48.06 on Friday.
Volume at the Bankers Association of the Philippines foreign exchange portal reached $722.6 million from $783.4 million on November 27.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index surged 218.10 points to end higher to 7,009.56. In the broader market, there were 119 gainers, 102 losers and 35 unchanged.
Volume reached 4.03 billion shares valued at P10.89 billion from Friday's 4.52 billion shares worth P27.65 billion.
Most active shares were led by BPI, down P2.90 to P80.10; Ayala Land, up P1.75 to P39.75 and ICTSI, up P7.20 to P124. DMS
