Peso ends at new four-year high of P48.06 vs US dollar

The Philippine peso closed at a new four-year high of P48.06 against the US dollar on Friday.
On Thursday, the peso closed at P48.115 against the greenback. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $783.4 million from Thursday's $575.71 million.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) closed at 6,791.46 points, down 136.29 points. But in the broader market, there were 129 gainers, 75 losers and 50 unchanged.
Volume reached 4.52 billion shares worth P27.65 billion from Thursday's 3.28 billion shares valued at P15.49 billion.
Most active shares were led by BPI, down P5 to P83; RLC, down 38 centavos to P 16.62 and SM Prime, down 50 centavos to P36. DMS
