Peso ends at P48.08 against US dollar

The Philippine peso ended at P48.08 against the US dollar on Monday.
On Friday, the peso closed at P48.04 against the greenback after hitting an intra-day four year of P48.02. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $539.45 million from $1.020 billion on Friday.
The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index closed 69.11 points higher to end at 7, 203. 67.
In the broader market, there were 122 gainers, 114 losers and 37 unchanged.
Volume climbed to 45.27 billion shares worth P9.55 billion shares from Friday's 12.61 billion shares valued at P 8.47 billion.
Most active shares were led by Dito CME, up 69 centavos to P7.61; Metrobank, up 75 centavos to P51.75 and Ayala Corp., down P4.50 to P860. DMS
