Peso gains 6 centavos to close at P50.88:$1

The peso gained six centavos from Wednesday's close to finish at P50.88 against the US dollar on Thursday. The Philippine currency hit the day's low of P50.93, or one centavo higher than the previous day but it rallied to end higher. Volume at the Philippine Dealing System reached $557.35 million from $523 million. The Philippine Stock Exchange index closed 68.56 points lower to 7,904.34. In the broader market, there were 151 decliners, 63 gainers and 65 unchanged. Volume reached 2.51 billion shares worth P8.21 billion, Foreigners were net sellers, with P4.14 billion compared to buying of P4.02 billion. Among most active shares were BDO Unibank, 0.57 percent down to P121.50 and Metrobank, down 0.22 percent to P91.50. DMS
