Peso rallies to P54.10:$1 after being down 14 centavos in trading

The Philippine peso closed at P54.10 against the US dollar after falling by 14 centavos at one point in trading on Tuesday, from P54.15 on the previous day.
Trading at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $605 million from $845.04 million on Monday.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index closed 8.56 points higher to 7,059.38. In the broader market, there were 103 decliners, 75 gainers and 53 shares unchanged.
Volume reached 953.28 million worth P4 billion from Monday's 769.2 million valued at P3.99 billion.
Most traded shares were led by Security Bank, down 3.45 percent to P139.80; SM Prime, u7p 1.18 percent to P34.40 and LT Group, down 2.45 percent to P13.56. DMS
