Peso weakens to P50.70:$1

The peso weakened by five centavos to finish at P50.70 against the US dollar on Monday. Volume at the Philippine Dealing System was a low $255.95 million from Friday's $379.45 million. The Philippine Stock Exchange index closed 48.60 points higher to close at 7,934.50. In the broader market, there were 105 decliners, 103 gainers and 51 unchanged. Volume reached 3.38 billion shares worth P 6.57 billion. Among gainers, Concrete Aggregates Corp led with a 21.13 percent gain to close at P86. Most active shares included Metrobank, down 0.11 percent to P91.90. DMS
