Philippine stock index finish below 8,100 points

The Philippine Stock Exchange closed at 8,045.78 points, after going past the 8,100 mark twice on Thursday. The index stood 26 points short of the all-time high of 8,127.48 at 10:30 am, or one hour after the market opened. After sliding, the index moved higher following lunch time break, standing at 8, 104.48 before declining. The Philippine Stock Exchange index's all-time high of 8, 127.48 points was set on April 10, 2015. But at the broader market, there were 115 decliners, 94 gainers and 53 unchanged. Volume reached 1.96 billion shares worth P7.13 billion. Foreigners were net buyers with purchases of P3.37 billion and selling of P2.74 billion. The peso gained six centavos to close at p50.56 against the US dollar. Volume at the Philippine Dealing System declined to $560.50 million from $932 million. DMS
