PSE index climbs back to 6,000-point level

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) returned to the 6,000-point level on Tuesday as it gained 98.18 points to end at 6,034.03.
In the broader market, there were 142 gainers, 84 losers and 46 unchanged.
Volume reached 1.18 billion shares worth P4.57 billion from Monday's 2.94 billion shares valued at P3.9 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Land, up 90 centavos to P30.90; Ayala Corp., up P16 to P718 and SM Investment Corp. up P14 to P908.
The peso closed at P48.56 against the US dollar from P48.67 on Monday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $687.37 million from $765.8 million on the previous day. DMS
