PSE Index climbs more than one percent

Stocks surged on Thursday, with the main index climbing more than one percent.
The Philippine Stock Exchange gained 114.17 points to climb to 7,803.31. In the broader market, there were 119 gainers, 77 decliners and 44 issues unchanged.
Volume reached 1.4 billion shares worth P6.9 billion from Wednesday's 1.51 billion valued at P5.94 billion. Foreigners were still net sellers with P3.95 billion sold and P3.47 billion bought.
Most active shares were led by Metrobank,. up 3.82 percent to P82.55; DMCI, up 4.98 percent to P11.38 and BDO Unibank, up 4.82 percent to P137.
The peso closed at P52.49 against the US dollar from P52.385. Volume at the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $457.4 million from $859.1 million. DMS
