PSE index closes at year’s low

The Philippine Stock Exchange Index closed at its year's low on Thursday.
The index closed 158.73 points lower to 8,190.01 points. In the broader market, there were 116 decliners, 92 gainers and 47 shares unchanged.
Volume reached 8.14 billion shares worth P7.59 billion from Wednesday's 6.59 billion shares valued at P7.48 billion. Foreign selling reached its 17 th day, with P3.82 billion unloaded and P2.39 billion bought.
Among most traded shares were Ayala Land, down 2.77 percent to P40.30; Banco de Oro Unibank, 3.07 percent down to P145.40; Ayala Corp., down 3.08 percent to P1,006, SM Investment Corp., 3.9 percent down to P912.50 and SM Prime, down 4.23 percent to P34.
The peso closed at P52.03 against the US dollar from P52.07 on Wednesday. Volume at the Philippine Dealing System reached $465.50 million from $500.30 million. DMS
