PSE index cuts losses

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index cut its losses but ended lower on Wednesday after gaining for the last two days.
The PSE index finished at 6,439.37 points, down 144.47 points. One hour before trading ended, the index was 227.62 points lower before rallying. In the broader market, there were 147 losers, 55 gainers and 41 unchanged.
Volume reached 825.25 million shares worth P8.96 billion from Tuesday's 980.80 million shares valued at P8.54 billion.
Most active shares were led by SM Investment Corp., down P15 to P935; Emperador, up six centavos to P8.35; Alliance Global, down 20 centavos to P7.10 and Jollibee, up P6.10 to P145. DMS
