PSE index declines, peso at P48.765:$1

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index declined 20.87 points to 6,076.91 even as newly-listed AREIT Inc faltered on Friday.
AREIT Inc., a real estate investment trust which listed at the PSE on August 13, ended 80 centavos lower to P24.10.
The peso closed P48.765 against the US dollar from P48.84 on Thursday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $599.65 million from Thursday's $632.1 million.
In the broader PSE market, there were 97 losers, 88 gainers and 56 unchanged.
Volume reached 6.8 billion shares worth P9.5 billion from Thursday's 1.35 billion shares valued at P17.15 billion.
Most active shares were led by Emperador up 78 centavos to P10.98; Ayala Land, up 10 centavos to P33.30 and SM Investment Corp. up P3 to P900. DMS
