PSE index down for second session

The main Philippine share index ended lower for the second straight on Monday.
The peso ended at P50.96 against the US dollar from P51 on Friday on thin volume.Turnover at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippine reached $315.35 million from the previous session's $456.2 million.
The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index fell by 3.29 percent 30 minutes before trading ended at 1 pm but reduced its losses as the session ended.
The index settled at 5,131.16 points, down 135.46 points. In the broader market, there were 134 losers,. 49 gainers and 37 unchanged.
Volume reached 535.8 million worth P5.3 billion from Friday's 696.58 million valued at P7.95 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Land, unchanged at P31; Ayala Corp., down P24 to P469; SM Prime, down P1.15 to P27.35 and SM Investment Corp., down P35 to P770. DMS
