PSE index end lower, peso gains slightly

The main Philippine share index closed lower on Thursday.
The peso closed at P52.225 against the US dollar from P52.29 on Tuesday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.266 billion from Tuesday's $1.12 billion.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index finished at 7,848.43 points, down 38.08. In the broader market, there were 129 losers, 75 gainers while 44 were unchanged.
Volume reached 2.1 billion shares worth P9.92 billion from Tuesday's 643.94 million shares valued at P5.42 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Land, down 35 centavos to P49.15; Megaworld, down 45 centavos to P4.84 and Kepwealth Property, up P6.10 to P18.32.
The PSE reported that the local small investor tranche for the initial public offering of Kepwealth Property Philippines, Inc. registered a 94 percent subscription take-up, higher compared to previous initial public offerings. DMS
