PSE index ends at 6,517.49

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index continued its march to the 7,000-point mark when it ended above 6,500 on Thursday.
The peso closed at P50 against the US dollar after reaching a high of P49.92. On Wednesday, it closed at P50.10.
Volume at the foreign exchange portal at the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $602.2 million from the previous day's $855.72 million.
The PSE index closed at 6,517.49 points, up 271.84 points. In the broader market, there were 132 gainers, 65 losers and 42 unchanged.
Volume reached 2.2 billion shares worth P11.52 billion from Wednesday's 1.31 billion shares valued at P8.24 billion.
Most active shares were led by GT Capital, up P59 to P444; Ayala Corp., up P42.50 to P798 and SM Prime, 45 centavos to P33.95. DMS
