PSE index ends flat

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index ended flat on Wednesday.
The peso settled at P49.82 against the US dollar from P49.83 on Tuesday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $681.45 million from Tuesday's $642.73 million.
The index closed at 6,209.71, up 1.99 but at the broader market, there were 98 losers, 95 gainers and 47 unchanged.
Volume reached 1.45 billion shares worth P15.67 billion from Tuesday's 857 million shares valued at P6.47 billion.
Most active shares were led by Altus Property Ventures, which listed last Friday, with P42.10, up 50 centavos; SM Investment Corp., down P19 to P920 and MerryMart, down 14 centavos to P3.36. DMS
