PSE index ends higher for third straight day

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index closed higher for the third straight day on Wednesday.
The peso finished at P50.62 against the US dollar from P50.63 on Tuesday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $248.6 million from $340.4 million.
The PSE index ended at 5,946.05, up 165.17. In the broader market, there were 135 gainers, 64 losers and 40 unchanged.
Volume reached 911.5 million worth P9.1 billion from Tuesday's 979.02 million valued at P7.4 billion.
Most active shares were led by Metrobank, up P2.25 to P41.10; BDO, up P6 to P108.50 and Jollibee, up P2.10 to P148.60. DMS
