PSE index ends higher; peso at P48.62:$1

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index closed 12.23 points higher to 5,785.09 points on Friday.
In the broader market, there were 104 losers, 79 gainers and 51 unchanged.
Volume reached 554.67 million shares worth P5.48 billion from
Thursday's 961 million shares valued at P5.27 billion.
Most active shares were led by SM Investment Corp., up P9.50 to P846; Ayala Land, up P1.30 to P28.20; Jollibee, down P1.80 to P87.80- and BDO, up P1.60 to P87.80.
The peso closed at at P48.62 against the US dollar from P48.58. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $689.6 million from $647.05 million on Thursday. DMS
