PSE index ends lower

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index ended higher on Thursday.
The peso closed at P50.67 against the US dollar from Wednesday's P50.80. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $290 million from $212.78 million on the previous day.
The PSE index finished at 5,599.35, up 25.80. In the broader market, there are 114 gainers, 66 losers and 49 unchanged.
Volume reached 697.1 million worth P4.37 billion from Wednesday's 600 million shares valued at P5.07 billion.
Most traded shares were led by Jollibee, up P2.00 to P136; PLDT, down P17 to P1,163 and SM Investment Corp., up P27 to P845. DMS
