PSE index ends lower

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) ended lower on Thursday.
The peso settled at P50 against the US dollar from P49.98 on Wednesday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $848.93 million from Wednesday's $671.3 million.
The PSE index closed at 6,118.25, down 70.57. In the broader market, there were 139 losers, 58 gainers and 38 unchanged.
Volume reached 1.34 billion shares worth P6.75 billion from Wednesday's 3.8 billion shares valued at P6.64 billion.
Most active shares were led by SM Prime, up 20 centavos to P31.20; MerryMart, down 4 centavos to P3.48; Emperador Inc., down 5 centavos to P8.00 and BDO, down P3 to P97.10. DMS
