PSE index ends lower

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index ended 61.01 points lower to 6,267.40 on Tuesday.
Volume reached 1.48 billion shares worth P7.59 billion from Monday's 1.06 billion shares valued at P6.15 billion.
In the broader market, there were 99 gainers, 96 losers and 47 unchanged.
Most active shares were led by Emperador Inc., up 18 centavos to P7.98; BDO, up 50 centavos to P8; SM Investment Corp., up P9 to P949 and DITO CME Holdings, up 19 centavos to P3.23.
The peso closed at P49.54 against the US dollar from P49.381. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.092 billion from the previous day's $609.77 million. DMS
