PSE index ends lower

The main Philippine share index finished lower but the peso gained slightly against the US dollar on Thursday.
The peso closed at P50.80 from P51.02 on Wednesday. Volume at the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.022 billion from $1.428 billion on Wednesday.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index ended at 7,790.91 points, down 25.22 points. In the broader market, there are 117 losers, 68 gainers and 54 unchanged.
Volume reached 514.80 million shares worth P6.5 billion from Wednesday's 644.07 million shares valued at P7.72 billion.
Most active shares were Ayala Land, down 50 centavos to P45.50; SM Investment Corp., up P8 to P1070 and Ayala Corp., unchanged at P830. DMS
