PSE index ends lower

The main Philippine share index closed lower on Monday.
The peso settled at P50.77 against the US dollar from Friday's P50.765. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $653.4 million from the previous session's $899.2 million.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index finished at 7,779.80 points, down 21.92 points. In the broader market, there were 105 losers, 81 gainers and 48 unchanged.
Volume reached 576.20 million shares worth P5.55 billion from Friday's 468.02 million shares valued at P5.71 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Land, down 80 centavos to P44.70; SM Investment Corp.. down P18 to P1,060 and BDO, up P3.50 to P160. DMS
