PSE index ends lower, peso at P49.041:$1

The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index ended lower on Friday, losing 56.56 points to 5,846.02.
But in the broader market, there were 113 gainers,82 losers and 40 unchanged.
Volume reached 5.27 billion shares valued at P10.92 from Thursday's 7.27 billion shares worth P6.53 billion.
Most active shares were led by Emperador, unchanged at P9.10; SM Investment Corp., down P27.50 to P850.50; PLDT, up P9 to P1,389 and Ayala Land, down 60 centavos to P32.20.
The peso closed at P49.041 against the US dollar from P49.05. In the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines volume amounted to $647.4 million from $587.1 million. DMS
