PSE index ends lower, peso flat vs US dollar

The main Philippine share index closed lower while the peso was flat against the US dollar on Wednesday.
The peso finished at P51.79 from Tuesday's P51.77. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.234 billion from $1.129 billion.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index settled at 7,681.25 points, down 75.47 points. In the broader market, there were 114 losers, 60 gainers and 58 unchanged.
Volume reached 321.84 million shares worth P4.78 billion from Tuesday's 1.02 billion shares valued at P6.95 billion.
Most active shares were led by Metrobank, down P1.30 to P66; SM Prime, down 65 centavos to P37.55 and ICTSI, down P3.00 to P116. DMS
