PSE index ends more than four percent higher

The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index closed more than four percent higher on Monday.
The peso settled at P50.72 against the US dollar, unchanged from Friday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $357.07 million from $270.5 million on Friday.
The PSE index finished at 5,570.81 points, up 223.84 or 4.15 percent. In the broader market, there were 119 gainers, 76 losers and 41 unchanged.
Volume amounted to 757 million shares valued at P4.86 billion from Friday's 293.30 million shares worth P4.03 billion.
Most active shares were led by SM Investment Corp., up P25 to P850; SM Prime, up P1.15 to P30.15; Universal Robina Corp., up P13.70 to P116.70 and Globe Telecom, up P250 to P2,300. DMS
