PSE index ends week higher

The Philippine Stock Exchange index finished the week with gains after days of losses following all-time high records.
On Friday, the index went up by 72.03 points to 8,810.75. In the broader market, there were 123 gainers, 72 decliners and 58 issues unchanged.
Volume climbed to 3.08 billion shares valued at P7.85 billion from Thursday's 2.74 billion worth P7.33 billion.
Foreigners were net sellers, with P4.13 billion sold and P3.15 billion bought
Among most traded shares were SM Investment Corp., up 0.59 percent to P1,030; Jollibee, up 2.37 percent to P294; San Miguel Corp., up 4.9 percent to P152 and Semirara Mining and Power Corp., 1.74 percent to P37.90.
The peso closed at P51.45 against the US dollar from P51.58. Volume at the Philippine Dealing System reached $1.12 billion from Thursday's $878.15 million. DMS
