PSE index falls 1.67 percent lower

The main Philippine stock index ended 1.67 percent lower while the peso ended flat against the US dollar on Wednesday.
The peso closed at P51.94 against P51.93 on Tuesday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal at the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $969.1 million to $1.173 billion on Tuesday.
The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index closed at 7,610.68 points, down 129.18 points. In the broader market, there were 110 losers, 80 gainers and 46 unchanged.
Volume reached 453.98 million shares worth P6.14 billion from 652.79 million valued at P5.45 billion.
Most active shares were led by SM Investment Corp., down P4.00 to P983, Ayala Land, down P1.15 to P47 and Ayala Corp., down P23.90 to P856. DMS
