PSE index falls below 8,000-point level

The Philippine Stock Exchange index fell below the key level of 8,000 points on Wednesday.
The index closed at 7,909.07, down 150.53 points, reaching its lowest level since August 3, 2017. In the broader market, there were 139 decliners, 85 gainers and 41 issues unchanged.
Volume reached 2.07 billion shares valued at P9.5 billion from Tuesday's 5 billion shares valued at P18.5 billion. Foreign selling reached P5.87 billion while foreign buying amounted to P4.365 billion.
Most traded shares were led by Ayala Land., down 3.05 percent to P39.75; Universal Robina Corp., down 0.20 percent to P149.70 and BDO Unibank, down 2.07 percent to P142.
The peso closed at P52.15 against the US dollar from P52.08. Volume at the Philippine Dealing System fetched $445.60 million from $456.20 million. DMS
