PSE index finishes higher

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index ended higher on Tuesday.
The peso closed at P50.52 against the US dollar from P50.595 on Monday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $558.66 million from Monday's $349.35 million.
The PSE index finished at 5,671.67 points, up 99.58. In the broader market, there were 118 gainers, 74 losers and 38 unchanged.
Volume reached 619.49 million shares worth P6.4 billion from Monday's 522.40 million shares valued at P5.11 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Corp., up P82.50 to P642.50; BDO, down 60 centavos to P98.30 and Metro Pacific, up 34 centavos to P2.85. DMS
