PSE index finishes higher

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index ended higher on Tuesday ending a two-session losing streak.
The peso finished at P50.63 against the US dollar from P50.695 on Monday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines was $368.53 million from the previous day's $213.82 million on the previous day.
The PSE index settled at 5,574.98 points, up 124.53 points. In the broader market, there were 109 gainers, 78 losers and 35 unchanged.
Volume reached 728 million shares worth P4.61 billion from Monday's 569 million shares valued at P4.07 billion.
Most active shares were led by Jollibee, up P6.70 to P141.20; BPI, down 55 centavos to P58.40; Ayala Land, up P1.05 to P30.25 and PLDT, down P33 to P1,206. DMS
