PSE index flat ahead of fourth quarter GDP announcement

The main Philippine stock index closed flat on Wednesday ahead of the government's fourth quarter gross domestic product.
The peso closed at P50.91 against the US dollar from P51.015. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.093 billion from $1.346 billion on Tuesday.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index closed at 7.468.73 points, up 2.08 points. In the broader market, there were 93 losers, 88 gainers and 53 unchanged.
Volume reached 755.7 million shares worth P7.1 billion from Tuesday's 741.11 million valued at P7.76 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Land, down 10 centavos to P39.40; BDO, up 30 centaavos to P153.50 and SM Prime, up 20 centavos to P40.20. DMS
