PSE index flat, peso gains vs US dollar

The main Philippine share index ended flat but the peso gained against the US dollar on Thursday.
The peso settled at P51.645 from Wednesday's P51.89. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $829.16 million from the previous session's $902.45 million,
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index closed at 8,022.42 points, down 5.41 points. In the broader market, there were 121 gainers, 71 losers while 49 shares were unchanged.
Volume reached 1.88 billion shares worth P6.74 billion from Wednesday's 1.33 billion shares valued at P7.3 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Corp., unchanged at P900; ISM Communications, down 14 centavos to P68; Ayala Land, down 45 centavos to P50.55 and SM Prime, five centavos down to P38.35. DMS
