PSE index gains for second day

The main Philippine share index ended higher for the second day on Wednesday.
The peso settled at P50.551 against the US dollar from P50.69 on Tuesday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.187 billion from $1,239 billion.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index gained 76.22 points to end at 6,867.26. But in the broader market, there were 123 losers, 34 gainers and 37 unchanged.
Volume reached 652.14 million shares worth P6.08 billion from Tuesday's 674.70 million shares valued at P5.83 billion.
Most active shares were led by SM Prime, up 50 centavos to P39.50; Ayala Land, up P1.15 to P40.75 and SM Investment Corp., down P16 to P945. DMS
