PSE index gains for third straight session

The main Philippine share index ended higher for the third straight session Monday.
The peso finished at P51.57 against the US dollar from P51.58 on Friday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.172 billion from $981.25 million.
The Philippine Stock Exchange index closed at 7,884.29 points, up 34.35. In the broader market, there were 96 gainers, 74 losers and 71 unchanged.
Volume reached 479.84 million worth P3.76 billion from Friday's 428.87 million valued at P4.5 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Corp., up P7.50 to P877.50; SM Prime, up 11 centavos to P39.20 and Metro Pacific, up 11 centavos to P5.06. DMS
