PSE index higher, peso at P49.01:$1

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) finished 84.90 points higher to 5,930.92 points on Monday.
In the broader market, there were 125 gainers, 74 losers and 45 unchanged.
Volume reached 82.95 billion shares worth P4.88 billion from Friday's 5.27 billion shares valued at P10.92 billion from Friday's 5.27 billion shares valued at P10.92 billion.
Most active shares were led by BDO, down 90 centavos to P89; Emperador, up 75 centavos to P9.85, PLDT, unchanged at P1,389 and BPI, down 50 centavos to P62.05.
The peso closed at P49.01 against the US dollar from P49.041 on Friday. Volume at the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $409.3 million from Friday's $647.4 million. DMS
