PSE index just above key 6,000-point level; peso at P49.33:$1

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index ended just above the key 6,000-point area on Friday.
The PSE index lost 25.75 points to 6,003.26. In the broader market, there were 93 losers, 91 gainers and 46 unchanged.
Volume reached 1.31 billion shares worth P2.94 billion from Thursday's 1.6 billion shares valued at P4.26 billion.
Most active shares were led by SM Prime, unchanged at P30.50; MerryMart, up 16 centavos to P2.35; Ayala Land, down P1.30 to P32.50 and SM Investment Center, up 50 centavos to P900.50.
The peso closed at P49.33 against the US dollar from P49.365 on Thursday. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $472.5 million from the previous day's $481.2 million. DMS
