PSE index lower, peso up vs US dollar

The main Philippine share index ended lower but the peso gained against the US dollar on Wednesday.
The peso finished at P52.20 from Tuesday's P52.26. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $912.33 million from the previous day's $1.140 billion.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index closed at 7,915.29 points, down 16.94. In the broad market, there were 107 losers, 90 gainers and 43 shares unchanged.
Volume reached 451.06 million worth P6.74 billion from Tuesday's 720.07 million shares valued at P5.21 billion.
Most active shares were led by SM Investment Corp., up P20 to P1,020; BPI, up 50 centavos to P93.50 and Ayala Land, down 75 centavos to P48.05. DMS
