PSE index lower, peso vs US dollar slightly higher

The main Philippine share index ended lower but the peso was slightly higher against the US dollar on Tuesday.
The peso finished at P52.26 from Monday's P52.28. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.140 billion from $1.325 billion.
The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index settled at 7,932.73, down 64.67 points. In the broader market, there were 126 losers, 73 gainers and 45 shares unchanged.
Volume reached 720.07 million shares worth P5.21 billion from Monday's 942.23 million shares valued at P4.97 billion.
Most active shares were led by Ayala Land, down P1.10 to P P48.80; BDO, down P5.00 to P137.40 and SM Prime, up 75 centavos to P35.40. DMS
