PSE index, peso close lower

The main Philippine stock index ended lower and the peso lost 23 centavos against the US dollar to end at P51,43 on Friday.
Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.268 billion from $984.36 million on Thursday.
The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index finished at 8,129.93, up 31.77 points. In the broader market, there were 129 gainers, 61 losers and 52 shares unchanged.
Volume reached 1.79 billion shares worth P5,68 billion from Thursday's 1.86 billion valued at P6.66 billion.
Most active shares were led by SM Investment Corp., unchanged at P1,000; BDO, steady at P150 and Ayala Corp., unchanged at P950. DMS
