PSE index, peso decline

The main Philippine stock market index and the peso ended lower on Tuesday.
The peso closed at P51.93, 10 centavos lower from Monday's close. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.157 billion from the previous day's $991.27 million.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index finished at 7,739.86, down 39.21 points. In the broad market, there were 135 losers, 52 gainers and 50 unchanged.
Volume reached 652.79 million shares worth P5.45 billion from Monday's 2 billion shares valued at P12.93 billion.
Most active shares were led by SM Investment Corp., up P16 to P987, Ayala Land, down P10 to P48.15 and D&L Industries, down three centavos to P8.87. DMS
