PSE index, peso end higher

The main Philippine share index ended higher on Thursday.

The peso finished at P51.42 against the US dollar from P51. 595. Volume reached $1.291 billion from the previous day's $1.159 billion.

The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) closed at 7,930.55 points, up 15.25. In the broader market, there were 93 gainers, 79 losers and 57 shares unchanged.

Volume reached 587.99 million shares worth P5.71 billion from Wednesday's 715.39 million valued at P5.55 billion.

Most active shares were led by SM Investment Corp., up P2.00 to P1006; BPI, up P1.00 to P95 and Ayala Corp., down P13 to P865. DMS
