PSE index, peso settle higher

The main Philippine share market and the peso ended higher on Friday.
The peso closed at P51.91 against the US dollar from P51.93. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.172 billion from $1.170 billion on Thursday.
The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index finished at 7,992.32 points, up 47.89. In the broader market, there were 111 gainers, 69 losers and 63 shares unchanged.
Volume reached 7.12 billion shares valued at P4.53 billion from Thursday's 702 million shares worth P6.7 billion.
Most active shares were led by BDO, up 80 centavos to P142.60; BPI, up P1.10 to P94.30 and SM Prime, up 30 centavos to P34.50. DMS
