PSE index, peso vs US dollar lose ground

The main stock index and the peso declined against the US dollar on Thursday.
The peso finished at P52. 545 from Wednesday's P52.28. Volume at the foreign exchange portal of the Bankers Association of the Philippines reached $1.661 billion from $1.27 billion.
The Philippine Stock Exchange ( PSE) index closed at 7, 828, down 29.79 points. In the broader market, there were 149 losers, 54 gainers and 42 shares unchanged.
Volume reached 789 million shares worth P11.81 billion from Wednesday's 1.17 billion shares valued at P6.56 billion,
Most active shares were led by Ayala Land, down 0.05 centavos to P48.65; SM Prime, down P1.00 to P34.50 and SM Investment Corp., up P16 to P1020. DMS
